GridStrategy
A symmetric grid ladder anchored to a captured start price. Fires long and short entries at fixed tick offsets — each fill self-advances the opposite side by the risk/reward distance.

How It Works
Start Price Anchor
The strategy captures the first tick it sees as the anchor price. From there, two entry levels are armed symmetrically — one below (long) and one above (short) — each offset by Grid Levels × TickSize.
Market Fill on Level Touch
When price crosses a level, a market order fires. The trade is automatically bracketed with a fixed stop at Grid Levels ticks and a target at Grid Levels × R:R − TP Slippage Buffer ticks.
Self-Advancing Ladder
After a fill, the opposite-side level moves one R:R distance further out in the fill's direction, and the same-side level steps another grid distance deeper. The ladder effectively walks with the market — trending moves keep triggering in-direction fills while the far side retreats to a safer distance.
Trade Geometry
Every trade has the same shape. Set your Grid Levels and R:R, and the bracket is calculated automatically.
Fixed Risk/Reward
Stop loss is pinned at Grid Levels ticks from entry. The take profit is calculated from your R:R ratio, minus an optional slippage buffer so fills tag the target reliably.
80-tick SL × 2.0 R:R = 160-tick TP
Optional Trailing Stop
Flip Trailing Stop on and the stop hands off to Quantower's native trailing — as price moves in your favor, the stop steps with it at the configured distance.
Built-in Guardrails
Daily P&L limits, a trading window, and direction filters — the strategy enforces your rules so you don't have to.
P&L Limits
Set a daily profit target and max loss. When either hits, the strategy auto-flattens and pauses. Tracks net P&L (gross minus commissions) with an automatic daily reset.
Example values — fully configurable.
Trading Window
Define when the strategy is allowed to enter. Outside the window it sits idle. Supports overnight windows (e.g. 6 PM – 6 AM ET).
Example values — all times in Eastern Time.
Direction Filters
Allow or disallow longs and shorts independently. Useful for biasing the ladder when you only want to fade one side of the market.
Debug Mode
Flip on verbose diagnostic logging to trace every decision the strategy makes — tick-by-tick level updates, fills, and guardrail state.
Every Setting at a Glance
Five direct parameters plus the shared TCT strategy framework (window, P&L, filters, logging). Sensible defaults included.
Features
- ✓Symmetric Grid LadderCaptures a start price on the first tick and arms long/short entries at a fixed tick offset. Each fill advances the opposite-side level by the risk/reward distance — the ladder self-advances in the direction the market runs.
- ✓Fixed Risk/RewardStop loss is pinned to the Grid Levels distance in ticks. Take profit is calculated as Grid Levels × R:R − TP Slippage Buffer, giving every trade consistent geometry.
- ✓Trailing Stop ToggleFlip a switch to hand the stop over to Quantower's native trailing implementation — ideal for letting runners extend in trending conditions.
- ✓Trading WindowConfigurable start/stop times in Eastern Time. Supports overnight windows. The strategy sits idle outside the window.
- ✓P&L GuardrailsDaily profit target and max loss with auto-flatten. Tracks net P&L (gross minus commissions) with automatic daily reset.
- ✓Direction FiltersAllow or disallow longs and shorts independently. Useful for biasing the ladder when you only want to fade one side.
- ✓Debug ModeToggle verbose diagnostic logging to trace every decision the strategy makes in real time.
